Hope Programmes
Our hope family have worked hard to research, design and develop a range of evidence based programmes in the area of Hope..
This is a new skills programme developed by RESILIO. It is based on research that suggests ‘Hope is a teachable skill’. The programme aims to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills to grow and maintain hope within themselves and others during these challenging times.
Hope is one of the strongest protective factors in reducing the risks of suicide and self–harm. Contents of the interactive workshop will cover:
- Introduce the concept of HOPE
- Explore the evidence and how it is linked to supporting the recovery of trauma
- Introduced to skills and knowledge to develop and maintain hope, even during these challenging times
- Have the confidence to act as an ambassador of hope in your family, communities and workplaces
The aim of this programme is to equip participants with evidenced based knowledge and skills to grow HOPE during the most challenging of times. This training opportunity has been adapted into two modules
Module I
- Introduction to the theory of hope and why we need to invest in it.
- Link to the impact of trauma and the importance of building hope and resilience
- Have an opportunity to experience a range of practical strategies to enable you to grow hope within their own setting.
- Reconnected to their own self care through hope and resilience
Module 2 is based on the original 12 lesson plan programme research in Northern Ireland which was developed by iFred.
- Have an opportunity to work through the 12 lesson plans of the hopeful mind programme
- Gain confidence and skills to deliver the programmes to children and young people
- Receive training resources to support you in the delivery of the programme
- Support the ongoing evaluation on the impact of teaching hope on the mental and emotional health of our children and young people

- Dealing with Obstacles
- Discovering your passion and purpose
This concentrates on John Bowlby’s Theory of Attachment. Hope is one of the strongest protective factors reducing the risk of suicide and “A securely attached child will store an internal working model of a responsive loving reliable caregiver, and of a self that is worthy of love, attention and will bring these assumptions to bare on all relationships”. (Holmes,1993). It covers
- Theory of Hope
- Discovering our Brain
- Staying Secure & the importance of initial Secure Attachment Style
- What we can do if initial secure attachment is not possible
- Hopes for our Children, the Circle of Security and Overcoming Obstacles
- The use of the Hope Language & Passing on Hope to others
- Celebration of Achievement & Graduation
Is based on research that suggests ‘Hope is a teachable skill’. The programme aims to equip workplaces/ organisations with the knowledge and skills to grow and maintain hope, optimism and resilience during these challenging times. Hope accounts for 14% of productivity in the workplace more than intelligence, optimism or self-efficacy. Hopeful individuals are resilient and exhibit enthusiasm, involvement and commitment in the workplace. Hope is considered as an important contribution in the psychological wellbeing of individuals
Contents of this interactive workshop will cover:
- Introduce the concept of Hope Optimism and Resilience in your workplace
- Explore the impact of the absence of hope on mental wellbeing
- Raise the importance of becoming trauma aware in the workplace
- Equip you and your team with evidence-based tools to help you grow hope and thrive in challenging circumstances
- Have the confidence to act as an ambassador of hope in your workplaces
This new facilitator training is for individuals working or facilitating programmes with clients who maybe struggling with physical / mental health problems. The programme will equip you with the knowledge, skills and resources to enable you to deliver a six-week programme based on the theory and evidence of HOPE
The contents of the programme are based on the evidence that hope is a teachable skill and include the following interactive sessions
- Planting seed of hope
- Preparing for the challenges
- Purpose passion and progress
- Nurturing Hope
- Hope and health after setbacks
- Visualising our future through the lens of Hope
This new facilitator training is for individuals working or facilitating programmes with clients who maybe struggling with physical / mental health problems. The programme will equip you with the knowledge, skills and resources to enable you to deliver a six-week programme based on the theory and evidence of HOPE
